metal:a headbanger's journey







Its an awesome must watch documentary about metal and its origins and why peopel finsd. Its a is a 2005 documentary directed by Sam Dunn with Scot McFadyen and Jessica Wise. It follows a 31 year old sam dunn a Canadian anthropologist, who has been a heavy metal fan since the age of 12. He sets out across the world to uncover the various opinions on heavy metal music, including its origins, culture, controversy, and reasons it is loved by so many people.The film made its debut at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival, and was released as a two-disc special edition DVD in the US on September 19, 2006.

Dunn uses a family-tree-type flowchart to document some of the most popular metal subgenres. The film also explores various aspects of heavy metal culture. Notable segments include Dunn taking a trip to the Wacken Open Air festival, an interview with Dee Snider providing an analysis of the PMRC attack on heavy metal music, and an interview with several Norwegian black metal bands, many of which whom support Satanism and openly discuss the burning of Norwegian churches.

According to some heavy metal is defined as satanic to some and there was a big debate wheer twisted sister's dee snider was sued...and not forgetting alice cooper perrforming the fake slaughtering of childred on stage which evoked a big hullabaloo among parents where some president's wife even wanted them to stop.BUt come on grow up...Metal rules fro all i care. For all those images of death..well all of us are going to die sometime right?Satanic..?come on just the sound of 666 they say its satanic!?Listen carefully....Coz if u aren't a metal head and cant dont try being one coz we're doing just fine without you.
