Bon scott of AC/DC...front man of acdc.Born july 9 1946 and passed away on feb 19 1980. scottish born..also the lyricist of acdc.vocals,drums,bagpipes.REal name ronald belford "Bon" scott.He was a member of AC/DC from 1974 to 1980 when he died same year as john lennon.He emigrated to melbourne at the age fo six in 1952.

He was a drummer at first for a band called the spektors in 1964 and occasional lead vocalist.HE perforemed in other bands like The valentines and fraternity before replacing dave evans of AC/DC as the lead singer in 1974.HE was actually working as a driver and general hand in Adelaide in 1974 and he met touring members of AC/DC.Angus and malcom young were not very pleased with dave evans as his style waas more like glam metal and therefore wanted some one to replace him.Bon beign their driver asked if he could be thier durmmer but the band kept saying they needed a singer and not a drummer..Therefore bon scott replaced dave evans in 1974..With the Young brothers as lead and rhythm guitarists, drummer Tony Currenti and George Young as a temporary bassist, AC/DC released High Voltage, their first LP in Australia in February 1975.BUt soon currenti was replaced by phil rudd..and mark evans as a bassist.Bon then did T.N.T,dirty deeds done cheap, let there be rock, highway to hell and if you want blood you've got it. Highway to hell was the band's best album among the six to reach the top 100 spot as #17.

Bon scott then died in february 19,1980. He passed out after a night of heavy drinking in a London club called MusicMachine and was left to sleep in a car owned by an acquaintance named Alistair Kinnear, on 67 Overhill Road in East Dulwich, South London. The following afternoon, after Kinnear had found Scott lifeless and alerted authorities, Scott was rushed to King's College Hospital in Camberwell, where Scott was pronounced dead on arrival. Although common folklore claims that pulmonary aspiration of vomit or drugs were the cause of Scott's death, the official cause was listed as "acute alcohol poisoning" and "death by misadventure." Scott was cremated and his ashes were interred by his family in Fremantle, the area to which they had emigrated when he was a child.some say Scott died of a heroin overdose, or was killed by exhaust fumes redirected into the car, or that Kinnear did not exist. Additionally, Scott was asthmatic, and the temperature was below freezing on the morning of his death.

He was then replaced by brain johnson and the group then rocorded back in black as a tribute to bon and also did a box set called bonfire as a tribute to him.He was inducted to the rock n roll hall of fame in 2003 and was ranked no.1 in the top 100 frontmen of rock ahead of freddie mercury and robert plant in a july 2004 issue of a UK mag called classic rock.
